Allardt First Baptist sees 18 children make profession of faith

JAMESTOWN — Through Vacation Bible School at Allardt First Baptist Church in Jamestown, 18 kids kicked off their summer break by accepting Christ as their savior.
The church, which runs around 75 people normally, averaged over 50 kids a night, said pastor Daryl Rains.
Rains, who runs the VBS with his wife Carolyn, said the church typically has that many kids for VBS.
Part of the reason is because of the week they choose to have the program — the first week out of school for area children.

“In our area that week, we were the only ones having Bible school, and the next week in our county, there were five or six different ones,” he said.
Rains also attributed the attendance to the morning timeframe of the VBS which works well for parents who need childcare.
The church used Lifeway’s Spark Studios curriculum for 4-year-old through kids who just finished sixth grade.
On Thursday, Rains presented the gospel to the older kids and invited them to accept Christ. Nine made a profession. Friday, Rains offered an invitation again, and nine more were saved.
