FRANKLIN — The Baptist and Reflector’s website hit a significant milestone this month.
Officially launched in October of 2015, the website — baptistandreflector.org — is celebrating 10 years of service to its readers.
“The B&R website is such an integral part of what we do,” said Chris Turner, editor of the B&R. “It allows us to provide our readers with breaking news in real time. It’s much more than just an augmentation of the print edition; it’s a valuable resource to our readers.”
Prior to its launch as a stand-alone website, the Baptist and Reflector’s online homepage was housed on the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board’s website.
The B&R website, which has experienced considerable growth since its inception, has recorded 3.7 million page views in its 10-year history.
“We are encouraged by what we’ve seen during the first 10 years of the website,” said Turner, “and we are even more excited about what lies ahead. We believe the website will take on an even more prominent role as a platform for telling the stories of Tennessee Baptists.”
In addition to being an outlet for breaking news, baptistandreflector.org houses an archive of stories from past print editions, enabling readers to locate their favorite stories from previous years.
An editorial entitled “The deadly sin of complacency” — written by former B&R editor Lonnie Wilkey in 2016 — continues to rank among the most-viewed stories on the website each year. B&R
