PRAYER PROMPTS ANCHOR YEAR-LONG FOCUS ON REVIVAL

December 22, 2025

Baptist and Reflector

FRANKLIN — Tennessee Baptists are preparing for a year focused on prayer in 2026, with weekly prompts centered on three key areas: praying for those without Christ, praying for the church, and praying for pastors.

The “Prayer Matters” weekly resource will feature these three prayer categories throughout the year, along with additional prompts on various topics each week.

“2026 is going to be a year of prayer across Tennessee with six 30-day prayer initiatives,” said Nancy Duggin, prayer catalyst for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. “We will pray for repentance, renewal, revival, and that the Lord of the harvest will raise up laborers who are ignited with his Spirit and excited to share the gospel.”

Duggin said Tennessee Baptists could “storm the gates of heaven with prayer and see a move of God unlike any we have ever witnessed.”

“We want to partner with you and your church in this great opportunity to see revival sweep across our beloved state,” she said.

The initiative aims to establish an intercessor network and raise regional prayer champions across Tennessee. The mission board’s goals include seeking revival and spiritual awakening while prioritizing prayer in all activities.

“Our goal is for Tennessee Baptists to prioritize prayer in all we do and to develop a deep abiding passion for prayer — for intimacy with our Lord,” Duggin said.

The three prayer prompts will appear in the last edition of the Baptist and Reflector each month. Additional prayer prompts can be accessed by signing up for the weekly Prayer Matters email at www.tnbaptist.org/prayer.
