Bob Brown, executive director of Lakeway Christian Schools, Morristown, is serving as interim pastor of First Baptist Church, Pigeon Forge. He formerly served on the staff of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board.
Scott Patty, founding pastor of Grace Community Church, Nashville, has written Words of Grace: A 100 Day Devotional. The book is a pastor’s encouragement, written with the congregation in mind, to build a life centered on God’s Word. Each day’s reading starts with the Scripture and the devotion expands on the Scripture and is designed to shape the reader’s mind by a vision of God and stir their heart’s affection for Him. The book will be released on March 1 and is available at LifeWay Christian Stores and everywhere books are sold.
Stephen Atwood is serving as transitional interim pastor of Southside Baptist Church, Shelbyville. Atwood is the son of Raymond Atwood, former director of missions for Loudon Baptist Association in East Tennessee, and the father of Trevor Atwood, pastor of Murfreesboro City Church, Murfreesboro. Together they have 133 years of combined Southern Baptist ministry.
Hobbie McCreary resigned as pastor of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Kingsport, after serving for 10 years. He is available for supply and interim work. McCreary can be reached at 423-341-6184.
Sammy Wallace, pastor of First Baptist Church, Loretto, since 2009 has announced his retirement at the end of April. Prior to coming to Loretto he served as youth minister at First Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg, and later Bonnertown Baptist Church, Five Points, and Pine Grove Baptist Church, Leoma, in addition to pastorates in North Alabama. He will be available for pulpit supply and revivals.

Mahlon Fisher will begin serving as pastor of First Baptist Church, Saint Joseph, on Feb. 11. He formerly served as associate pastor of Leoma Baptist Church, Leoma.
Rachel E. Sherron recently resigned as minister of children at First Baptist Church, Clinton.
Robert G. Haynes has been called as pastor of Bangham Heights Baptist Church, Cooke-ville. He was ordained in January at University Heights Baptist Church, Cookeville.
Karen Pittman recently celebrated her 20th anniversary as church secretary at First Baptist Church, Manchester.
On Jan. 3, Grace Baptist Church, Tullahoma, licensed Noah Hinshaw to preach. The church also ordained two new deacons that day — Greg Burt and Randy Edwards.
First Baptist Church, Milan, has called Kryn Bradley as children’s director.
CHURCHES
Faith Baptist Church, Bartlett, is celebrating its 25th anniversary throughout February. The major event will be a day of celebration on Sunday, Feb. 25, beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a churchwide barbecue lunch and a brief afternoon program of music and memories. Danny Sinquefield is pastor.
Hillcrest Baptist Church, Clarksville, will hold revival services Feb. 25-28 with guest evangelist Phil Glisson of Memphis.
First Baptist Church, Middleton, will hold revival services Feb. 25-27 with guest evangelist Roc Collins of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board in Franklin. Sunday services will begin at 10:55 a.m. with a noon meal to follow. A service also will be held at 6 p.m. Services on Monday and Tuesday beginning at 7 p.m.
First Baptist Church, Adamsville, will hold revival services Feb. 26-March 2, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Guest evangelists are Willie McLaurin (Feb. 26); Larry Robertson (Feb. 27); Roc Collins (Feb. 28); Johnny Hunt (March 1); and Ron Meeks (March 2).
EVENTS
The annual Youth Evangelism Conference, sponsored by the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, will be held March 9-10 at Nashville Municipal Auditorium. Guest speakers include Clayton King (Friday) and Darren Whitehead (Saturday). The Skit Guys and the YEC Band also will perform.
