GERMANTOWN — Matt Brown, senior pastor of Germantown Baptist Church, Germantown, will be nominated as president-elect of the Tennessee Baptist Pastors Conference during its meeting Nov. 14 in Chattanooga.
Ben Cowell, pastor of Brownsville Baptist Church, Brownsville, announced his plans to nominate Brown on Sept. 7.
“Matt is a dear brother with many years of faithful service in pastoral ministry,” Cowell said.
Brown earned his bachelor of arts degree from Blue Mountain (Miss.) College, his master of divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky.; and a Ph.D. from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, Cordova.
“Matt is a dedicated Southern Baptist who holds firmly to the sufficiency of Scripture. This is fully displayed every Sunday at GBC where he faithfully preaches expositional sermons,” Cowell said.
“Ultimately, it is his commitment to expository preaching that gives me great confidence that he can plan a Pastors’ Conference that will turn Tennessee Baptists’ attention toward the glory of God in Scripture,” he added. B&R
