Mike Dawson

FRANKLIN — Mike Dawson will be  the new curriculum writer for the June-August quarter, writing the Explore the Bible series. Michael Julian, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church, Trenton, will continue writing the Bible Studies for Life commentaries for June-August. 

Dawson, who currently serves as transitional interim at churches around the state, has pastored two churches in Tennessee. 

He was senior pastor at First Baptist, Columbia, from 1996-2005, and now serves as the church’s pastor emeritus. He also was pastor at Dalewood Baptist Church, Nashville, from 1972-78. In between those tenures, he pastored churches in Alabama and Georgia.

A native of South Carolina, Dawson is a graduate of Furman University, Greenville, S.C., and New Orleans (La.) Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dawson is a former member of the Executive Board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention (now Tennessee Baptist Mission Board), and recently served on the Committee on Boards.

Dawson and Jolene, his wife of 59 years, have three children, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. B&R
