Wes Jones, disaster relief specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, announced on Aug. 30 that the following teams/volunteers are being placed “on alert” for possible deployment to Georgia or Florida: chaplains, assessors, flood recovery, shower/laundry, IMT, and feeding teams.
“We are asking volunteers to begin to plan for possible response as needed,” Jones said.
He asked that volunteers look at their schedules to see when they might be able to respond if called upon. He also asked volunteers to check their equipment to make sure it is ready, and to examine any trailers that might be used, checking the tires for wear and cracks, and checking the manufacture date to make sure the trailers are not too old.
“As we wait, please keep those affected and the state directors of the affected states in your prayers,” Jones said. B&R
