GOD CAN’T BE PLEASED

This morning I was reading over yesterday’s Baptist Press stories and this one caught my attention: “Third gender option takes place in NYC, California.”

I immediately began recalling Scripture from my somewhat limited memory. I just could not remember where it says, “And on the third day God created man, both male and female and Gender X.”

Sure enough, a quick reading of Genesis 2:27 confirmed my original thought: “So God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female.” No mention, whatsoever, of Gender X.

In addition to the two locations mentioned in the above headline, six other states and Washington, D.C. already allow that option. Plus, two other states (New Jersey and Maine) are in the process of allowing their residents to choose a third gender.

I imagine God can’t be pleased. It takes people with a lot of pride and arrogance to dare think they can change God’s plan of creation.

It’s plainly stated in Scripture. God created male and female. There is no Gender X, regardless of how many laws man make that state otherwise.

I am not a big fan of Southern Baptist Convention-approved resolutions because they are non-binding and reflect the opinions and thoughts of messengers at just one annual meeting, but a resolution adopted on transgender identity in 2014 has merit today. It affirmed: “God’s good design that gender identity is determined by biological sex and not by one’s self-perception — a perception which is often influenced by fallen human nature in ways contrary to God’s design.”

Our nation has been on a slippery slope for decades. It just accelerated to a greater degree. Pray for our country like never before in 2019. God is our only hope.
