Since the first load of supplies entered the warehouse, David Baines and his team have worked to supply the needs of others. They recently filled and shipped their 800th load of supplies to families affected by Hurricane Helene.

MORRISTOWN — God’s Warehouse will conduct a three-day furniture and appliance collection project in Gatlinburg beginning Monday, with volunteers needed to help clear a 29-unit condominium facility.

The project runs Oct. 13-15, according to Doug Derreberry, director of God’s Warehouse Services. Volunteers will remove mattresses, appliances and furniture from multiple floors to load onto semi-trailers.

“One of our great partners in Gatlinburg has already blessed God’s Warehouse with mattress, appliances, and furniture on a select basis,” Derreberry said. “Now we have been given the option of receiving all items in a 29-unit facility.”

Transportation will leave God’s Warehouse at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Departure times for Tuesday and Wednesday may be earlier and will be announced Monday. Lunch will be provided all three days.

The collected items will help Hurricane Helene victims moving into homes, Derreberry said.

For information, contact Derreberry at 423-312-683.

Relief effort continues

The organization’s Elizabethton location will ship its 800th load of Hurricane Helene supplies this week, according to David Baines’ team.

God’s Warehouse Morristown also recently shipped Container 146 to Israel through its Harvest of Israel program and shipped Container 147 on Oct. 3.

Two weeks ago, the organization sent a 53-foot semi-trailer of supplies valued at more than $50,000 to Camp Barnabas in western Missouri after a tornado damaged the campus in February.

Hygiene kits needed

God’s Warehouse needs donations to assemble 1,100 personal hygiene kits for domestic and international disaster relief.

Each kit contains soap, washcloths, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, combs, hairbrushes, deodorant, cotton swabs, bandages, nail clippers, lip balm, lotion, razors, shaving cream and tissue packets.

Supplies can be dropped at 3441 W. Andrew Johnson Highway in Morristown. Donations can be made at https://abundant.co/nolachuckybaptist/give or mailed to God’s Warehouse, P.O. Box 326, Morristown, TN 37815. B&R
