MT. JULIET — The Missions Mobilization Center received a truckload of plumbing materials Oct. 30 from Kenny Pipe and Supply, providing supplies that will help rebuild 40 households in East Tennessee still recovering from Hurricane Helene.
The Nashville-based plumbing supply chain donated pipes, sinks, showers, and other pipe fixtures. This is the first of four loads that will support Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief’s rebuilding efforts.
“This means the world to us,” said Garry Maddox, Arise and Build coordinator for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. “More families will get help. We don’t have to purchase this material now, so we can direct those funds toward other needs.”
The Missions Mobilization Center stores supplies for Arise and Build, an initiative targeting Hurricane Helene’s impact in East Tennessee since the storm struck in September 2024.
Jay Edgerton, chaplain for the company’s “Kenny Serves” initiative, said the donation reflects the company’s mission to serve communities.
“One of our values is demonstrating the work of the Lord in our workplace,” he said. “We want to contribute our time, our talent and our resources back to the communities in which we live.”
The shipment includes supply and drain pipe, rough-in materials, pipe fittings, and insulation. It’s essentially “anything that touches water” for a household, according to inventory analyst Tony Diaz.
Kenny Pipe and Supply operates eight locations across Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. The company has served the region since 1992.
