Baptist and Reflector
BRENTWOOD – Kylan Mann, pastor of Central Baptist Church, Martin, will be nominated as vice president of the Tennessee Baptist Convention during next week’s Summit (scheduled for Nov. 13-17 at the Sevierville Convention Center in Sevierville).
Mann will be nominated by Danny Sinquefield, pastor, Faith Baptist Church, Bartlett.
“Kylan is an exceptional young leader and he is actively involved in his association (Weakley County Baptist Association),” Sinquefield observed.
He noted that Mann also “has led Central during a strong season of growth in attendance and reaching people for Christ.”
Central Baptist Church is a strong supporter of the Cooperative Program, having given $59,440 (10.4 percent of its undesignated receipts) through the Cooperative Program in 2016.
Mann, 37, is a native of Dover and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee-Martin and his master of divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky. He has served as a youth pastor at several churches in Tennessee and one church in Arkansas. He became pastor of Central Baptist in 2011. During his tenure there the church has been a leader in the association in baptisms. The church also began Central Christian Academy in the fall of 2014.
Mann is the second announced nominee for an office in the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Steve Freeman, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Springfield, was announced earlier this year as a nominee for TBC president.
