FRANKLIN — Tennessee Baptist pastors Dustin Allman and Scott Brown will write Sunday School commentaries for the June-August quarter.

Allman will write the Expolore the Bible series. He has served as the lead pastor at The Fort Church in Kingsport for nine years. He also currently serves with Hope Builders Ministries to support the work of planting churches and training pastors in Africa and Southeast Asia.  He previously served as student pastor at churches located in Orange, Va., and Burlington, N.C.

Allman

Allman is from Burlington, NC and has studied at Liberty University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He was an FCA chaplain at Sullivan North High School for eight years and has served on local boards such as The Salvation Army and Young Life, and currently serves on the Executive Team at the Sullivan Baptist Association.

He’s been married to Amanda for 10 years and they have adopted two boys, Wrigley and Ryman.

Brown

Scott Brown, pastor of First Baptist Church, Waverly, will write the Bible Studies for Life series. Brown has served as pastor at First Baptist since early 2017. He has served in ministry leadership since 2003, both bivocationally and full time as a youth pastor, associate pastor and pastor.

He currently serves as second vice president of the Tennessee Baptist Convention and is a director of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board.

Before coming to Waverly, Brown led a church revitalization with a congregation in Orlando, Fla. Since coming to Waverly, the church has created new ministries, reached many people in the community, and united behind a mission of “knowing God and making Him known.”

He earned a doctor of philosophy degree in leadership from Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, La., in 2021.

Scott and his wife, Crystal, have two children, Zoe and Xander. B&R
