Baptist and Reflector
BOLIVAR — Becky Logan was honored on March 13 for 25 years of faithful service as pianist of First Baptist Church, Bolivar.
Logan and her husband, Marston, moved to Bolivar and joined First Baptist in 1976 where she served in a variety of roles with the music ministry, Sunday School teacher, Mission Friends teacher and more.
In 1978 she was asked by then minister of music James Pulliam to serve as pianist for the Junior Choir. Since that time Logan has faithfully worked with and played the piano for all age choirs, from preschool choir all the way to the Senior Adult choir, the Golden Sounds,
She became the church pianist in 1997.
“Through my ministry as pianist at First Baptist Church, God has given me many opportunities to share His message of love and salvation through music, and hopefully be a blessing to people of all ages,” said Logan, who has been diagnosed with metastatic cancer.
“That has been my joy — the joy of the Lord is my strength! It was a special blessing when one of my young VBS/choir students said, “The piano lady helped me come to Jesus.” B&R
