Pray for Supreme Court Justices

April 24, 2015

In the April 8 issue of the Baptist and Reflector, we reported that the legal fate of marriage in the United States will be debated April 28 before the Supreme Court.

With that date just six days away, it is imperative that Tennessee Baptists and Christians fall on our knees to pray for those nine justices of the Supreme Court who will make a landmark decision.

The article noted that the decision likely will be made by the justices before they adjourn this summer.

The judges can rule that gay marriage could be legal throughout the country by the end of June or that states (such as Tennessee) can maintain their authority to define marriage as only between a man and woman.

Quite frankly, I don’t know how the judges will rule. Culture tells us that more and more people are leaning toward the legalization of gay marriage. See study from LifeWay Research on page 6.

God’s Word tells us homosexuality is wrong and that marriage was intended for one man and one woman. Let’s pray that God’s Word will prevail.
