BRENTWOOD — Preparations are underway for The Summit, to be held Nov. 9-11 at First Baptist Church, Millington.
The Summit includes the Tennessee Baptist Pastors Conference, related luncheons and meetings, and the annual meeting of the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
The theme for this year’s meeting is “Reach Now … Whatever It Takes,” based on I Corinthians 9:19.
This issue contains reports from the Committee on Boards, the Committee on Committees, and the Constitution and Bylaws Committee. The TBC bylaws cite that these reports must be released 60 days prior to the annual meeting. The reports can be found on pages 6, 7, and 10.
A reminder on provisions for submitting resolutions can be found on page 7. Potential messengers are encouraged to submit resolutions prior to the annual meeting. They can be mailed to: Resolutions Committee, Executive Board, TBC, P.O. Box 728, Brentwood, TN 37024. Even if the resolution is presented in advance, it must still be presented on the floor of the annual meeting.
Online registration for The Summit began Sept. 8 and continues through Nov. 5.
Something new has been added to the registration process this year, said Dan Ferrell, TBC registration secretary. “To pre-register, you will be required to enter the church Annual Church Profile login. It will be easiest for one representative from the church office to register all messengers at once,” Ferrell noted. He added that most churches pre-register their messengers online and print messenger cards directly.
“The online pre-registration system will not allow churches to register more messengers than permitted based on church membership as reported to the 2014 ACP,” Ferrell said.
Messengers who do not pre-register can register in person beginning on Monday, Nov. 9, from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Millington.
Registration will be open on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 8-11 a.m.
