CHATTANOOGA — Messengers at the 2023 Summit in Chattanooga will have more information at their fingertips than ever before, thanks to the unveiling of a new Summit app that can be downloaded to smart phones and other devices.
The app will contain a digital version of the Summit Guide and will include: a map of the conference center, the full Summit schedule, a list of local restaurants, information about the breakout sessions, an interactive map, information about the Acts 2:17 Initiative report and more.
Chris Turner, director of communications for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, said he is excited about the new feature.
“We’ve heard from messengers through our surveys and in conversations the desire for a Summit app,” said Chris Turner, director of communications for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, “so, we wanted to move in a direction that would offer that option.”
Turner said one of the benefits of having the app is that messengers and guests will be able to easily access pertinent information, even if they opt not to pick up a printed edition of the Summit Guide — or if they don’t have the printed edition with them at any point during the conference. He also noted that the app is cost effective.
“With the addition of the app we are able to reduce the number of hardcopy guides, which actually saves several thousand dollars in printing and paper costs,” he said.
The 2023 Summit runs Nov. 12-15 at the Chattanooga Convention Center. B&R
