BRENTWOOD — Tennessee Baptists gave a total of $3,871,421 through the Cooperative Program in December. It was the largest dollar amount for the Cooperative Program in a single month since January in the 2012-2013 budget year when Tennessee Baptists gave $3,897,791.
After two months of the 2015-16 budget year Tennessee Baptist churches have given $6,150,145 through the CP giving channel for missions and ministries throughout Tennessee, the nation, and the world.
The amount is $560,300 or 10 percent over what was given after two months last year. The total also is $441,812 or 7.74 percent above budget needs.
“Our Tennessee Baptist churches have demonstrated strong and unified support of Great Commission work through the cooperative program in the month of December,” observed Randy C. Davis, TBC executive director/treasurer.
“December was our strongest month in the last 30 and the sixth strongest month in the last decade,” he continued.
Davis noted that after two months “into our missions budget cycle we are 7 percent over budget and 10 above the same two months from a year ago.
“This does not indicate what the next 10 months will hold, but I think we should celebrate what God is doing right now (I’ve already been dancing a little myself!),” he said.
“I thank God every month for the faithful, systematic, and generous giving of our Tennessee Baptist churches.”
