Baptist and Reflector
FRANKLIN — Tennessee Baptist Convention churches gave $2,833,923 through the Cooperative Program in July.
For the first nine months of the 2020-21 fiscal year, Tennessee Baptists have given $26,337,904 through Southern Baptists’ missions and ministry giving channel.
The amount is $505,941 or 2 percent more than was given over the same time frame last year and is $87,904 or 0.33 percent above current budget needs.
Randy C. Davis, president and executive director of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, observed that Tennessee Baptists have an incredible desire to see the Great Commission accomplished not only in Tennessee but around the world.
“I believe that Tennessee Baptists have grasped the idea that anyway you slice it, Tennessee is a mission field,” Davis said. “It is evident from the Cooperative Program giving of Tennessee Baptists that they also have a Great Commission for the world. The generosity of Tennessee Baptists through this pandemic crisis doesn’t surprise me at all,” Davis added.
“Tennessee Baptists always rally to an important cause and I believe that they understand there is no cause greater than reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.” B&R
