FRANKLIN — Tennessee Baptist Convention churches gave $4,083,899 through the Cooperative Program in January.
It is the largest single monthly amount ever and the first time CP gifts have exceeded $4 million in a month for more than a decade. It is the largest monthly amount since Tennessee Baptists gave $4,019,171 in December of 2008.
For the year-to-date, TBC churches have given $9,499,996. The amount is $318,267 or 3.5 percent over the amount given at the same time last year.
After the first quarter of the 2019-20 fiscal year, receipts are $749,996 or 8.57 percent above budget needs.
“With more than $4 million given in January, Tennessee Baptists gave the largest amount through the Cooperative Program of any month since its inception 95 years ago,” said Randy C. Davis, president and executive director of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. “This is worth celebrating! Great work and generous giving to support the Great Commission from our wonderful and diverse network of churches. Thank you!”
