Myhre
Union University’s McAfee School of Business will host Jason Myhre, executive director of the Eventide Center for Faith and Investing, for its annual Faith in the Marketplace luncheon Feb. 11. Eventide Center for Faith and Investing is designed to help Christians understand and practice biblically faithful investing. Myhre is also a founding member of Eventide Asset Management, an investment firm providing values-based investments rooted in a biblical worldview. The Faith in the Marketplace luncheon is open to the public and will begin at noon in the Carl Grant Events Center. Cost is $35 per seat or $250 per table of eight. Jonathan Phillips of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Jackson, publicly surrendered to vocational ministry on Jan. 5. Phillips serves as interim children and youth director at Hillcrest.

The Watauga Association of Baptists will be hosting the 47th Annual Association Music School at Grace Baptist Church nightly on Feb. 24, 25, 27, and 28. Choral director Debbie Gouge will be directing Calvary’s Lamb by Mary McDonald. Orchestrations by Ed Hogan.
Mike Clark, director of missions for the William Carey Baptist Association, was part of the ministry efforts in New Orleans after the devastating New Year’s Day attack that saw a suspect drive a truck through crowded sidewalks in the French Quarter, killing 14 people and injuring 30 others before being fatally shot by police. Clark, a crisis-trained strategic chaplain coordinator with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, led a team of chaplains who provided emotional and spiritual support to victims’ families, first responders, and community members at the scene. Clark, who has served with BGEA for 20 years, emphasized their mission to respond wherever needed, offering prayer and comfort during the city’s time of mourning.
