LEADERS
Pastor Juan Natal joined the New Churches Team of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board June 13 as a part-time new church catalyst. Juan is church planter and pastor of Renovacion Church in Nashville and is married to Marybel Sotomayor.
Cross Roads Baptist Church, Greenbrier, called Al Hodges as pastor on June 12. He had been serving as interim pastor since November of 2020.
Ashlyn Mayberry joined the Collegiate Ministries Team of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board on June 24 as CMS Associate – Memphis. She is a graduate of Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, and New Orleans (La.) Baptist Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in collegiate ministry. She has worked in the Austin Peay collegiate ministry for the past three-and-a-half years as well as a Student Mobilizer with the International Mission Board the past 10 months. She previously worked with Cumberland Baptist Association in Clarksville.
Mike Clark is the new director of missions for William Carey Baptist Association, based in Fayetteville. He currently serves as a crisis chaplain coordinator for the Billy Graham Association. He is a Southern gospel singer and also song writer for Chestnut Mound Music and Chris White Music, Nashville. Clark also is a former pastor of 24 years and a former criminal investigator with Huntsville Police Department. He has already begun serving in the new position but will be transitioning from pastoring until July 31. He and his wife, Mona, have two children and six grandchildren.
First Baptist Church, Byrdstown, recently ordained Matt Smith, Tanner Rich, Chris Smith and William Matheny as deacons.
