EVENTS

Big Hatchie Baptist Association will be hosting a Senior Adult Banquet on April 14 at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Ripley. Kenny Evans will be the special guest.

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team developed a one-day seminar called Sharing Hope in Crisis to prepare people to share the love and hope of Jesus when others are facing hard times. The next seminar will be on March 22 at the Hiwassee Community Auditorium in Madisonville. For information and to register for this free training, go to BillyGraham.org/RRTseminar.

Zion Baptist Church in Elizabethton will be hosting a Spring Revival, March 23-26, with evangelist Brent Carr on Sunday at 11 a.m. and evangelist Tyler Gaulden on Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday–Wednesday at 7 p.m. Music will be provided by the Zion Adult Choir and McKamey Legacy.

ASSOCIATIONS

Clinton Baptist Association will be hosting a free NAMB Evangelism Training at Grace Baptist Church in Knoxville on April 22 from 10:30 to 1:30 ET. This training is designed to equip leaders with the tools and resources to create an evangelism-focused culture in their church. Speakers will be from the NAMB Evangelism Team and lunch will be provided. Each attendee must register separately by April 22.

  • Liberty Baptist Church in Bristol ordained Josh Bowman to the gospel ministry on Feb. 2. Josh and his wife Mary currently serve as Student Ministry Directors. In addition, Josh has been preaching on Sunday evenings since summer 2020, and Mary has been serving as Administrative Assistant since February 2024. The Bowmans have two children, Ethan and Caylee. Stan Anderson serves as Pastor of Liberty Baptist.
  • When the McNairy County News hosted a “Best of Awards” for 2024, First Baptist Church Michie was voted Best Church/Place of Worship. Pictured is Bro. Ben Martin holding their certificate. “Thanks to all those that voted for our place of worship. God is so good!” wrote Martin in a Facebook post about the award.
  • Nolachucky Baptist’s Heavy Equipment team, led by Dale Moles, completed another bridge on Feb. 6. This bridge was built five years ago in Mountain City and was totally washed away in the recent flood. A total of 16 bridges have been built or repaired so far, with 43 more projects on the list.
  • World Emergency Relief donated a 4,000-gallon Fresh Water Portable Tank to God’s Warehouse which is an essential necessity when flooding occurs.
