Susan Mason

Enon Baptist Church, Halls, called Phillip Senn as pastor on March 13. The church also named retired pastor William P. “Bill” Oakley as pastor emeritus.

Susan Mason recently was recognized by the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board for 25 years of service. She has been the administrative assistant at Carson Springs Baptist Conference Center in Newport for 25 years. She is a member of  First Baptist Church, Newport. Mason and her husband, Pat, have a daughter and two grandsons.

Phil Taylor

Phil Taylor recently was recognized by the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board for five years of service as part-time church revitalization specialist. He also serves as associational missions strategist/director of missions for CrossNet Baptist Network, based in Cleveland. He and his wife Becky have two children and three grandchildren.

The 44th Watauga Baptist Association Music School was recently held at Grace Baptist Church in Elizabethton with about 90 in attendance each night. The choir, led by Scott Shepherd, worship specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, performed the cantata “For God So Loved the World.”

Faith Baptist Church, Hollow Rock, recently ordained Tim Higdon, right, and Chris Finley as deacons. It was the first deacon ordination in the church’s 30-plus years of ministry.

Bibles Chapel Baptist Church, Midway, celebrated its 75th anniversary on March 27. Lonnie Wilkey, editor of the Baptist and Reflector, presented the church a certificate from the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. Pastor Donnie Bible, center, is flanked by deacon Bobby Carter and WMU member Anna Sue Smith.
