TENNESCENE: NOV. 19

November 19, 2025

JACKSON — More than 90 pastors, church leaders, and associational leaders extended their Summit experience to attend the Return Together: A Post-Summit Gathering with Richard Blackaby hosted by the Strengthening Healthy Churches Team.

“We’re very good at doing what we can do, but God invites us to join what only He can do,” said Blackaby, challenging attendees as he preached from John 3.

The event also included a panel discussion with Blackaby, outgoing Tennessee Baptist Convention president Jay Hardwick, and Tennessee Baptist Mission Board (TBMB) president and executive director Randy Davis. They discussed the marks of spiritual leadership, leading change, the need for healthier churches, and the pathway forward for Tennessee Baptist churches.

“So many great takeaways from Summit this week, but this is one of the top!” commented Clay Gilbreath, associational missionary of Big Hatchie Baptist Association.

Andre Dugger, former pastor and president of From the Depths Ministries, also added, “It was the highlight of the week.”

This event, hosted by Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, launched the Stronger Churches Network of the TBMB, which invites every pastor into local cohorts and a statewide network designed to help churches achieve greater health so that every person in every corner of Tennessee has multiple opportunities to hear and respond to the gospel.
