First Baptist Church, Gallatin, recently held a Sunday afternoon outreach event in the city. Members went into neighborhoods to place door hangers about the church on doors of homes and to prayerwalk. Information on the church’s fall festival was included on the door hangers. Then participants returned to the church for a free meal.

First Baptist Church, Oakland, has provided funds for its second well in Myanmar working with a missionary of the Global Catalytic Network.

LEADERS

Mike Dawson has been called as transitional interim pastor, Mount Horeb Baptist Church, Ethridge.

Wes Troutt has been called as pastor, Mouth of Richland Baptist Church, Blaine. He formerly was on the staff of Fairview Baptist Church, Corryton.

Jason Hartig, pastor, Smyrna Baptist Church, Humboldt, has resigned effective Oct. 2.

ASSOCIATIONS

Fayette Baptist Association, based in Somerville, will send missions teams to Guatemala Dec. 1-6 to support the Tennessee/Guatemala Baptist Partnership, and to the Philippines Jan. 25 – Feb. 7. The Brotherhood/Baptist Men of William Carey Baptist Association, based in Fayetteville, held its annual Baptist Men’s Fall Family Event recently at Cash Point Baptist Church, Ardmore. About 135 people attended  and about $400 was collected for the ministry of the Baptist Men. Randy C. Davis, executive director, Tennessee Baptist Convention, spoke.

Robertson County Baptist Association, based in Springfield, will coordinate a missions team to Guatemala on March 16-23 to support the Tennessee/Guatemala Baptist Partnership. Team members will assist the Baptist seminary there.

Nashville Baptist Association will hold Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer Nov. 7 at Harpeth Heights Baptist Church, Nashville. For more information, contact the association at 615-259-3034 or jhoward@nashvillebaptists.com.

  • Donnie Hedgecoth, volunteer of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Crossville, works on a house near Johnsonville, S.C., which was damaged last year by storms and again by Hurricane Matthew. He and two others served Oct. 9-15 on a missions team organized by Kirk Casey, director of missions, Cumberland Plateau Baptist Association. The association also saw five Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers go on Oct. 23 to Elizabethton, N.C., to help victims of Hurricane Matthew.
