LEADERS

Lloyd Stilley

Lloyd Stilley recently began serving as associational missions strategist for Bledsoe Baptist Association, based in Gallatin. Stilley has served as pastor of four churches in 35 years in Alabama and Louisiana. He holds a master’s of divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theolgical Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, and a doctor of ministry degree from New Orleans (La.) Baptist Theological Seminary. Stilley and his wife, Leeanne, have two sons and two grandchildren.

First Baptist Church, Roan Mountain, has called Will Kerley as student pastor.

Oak Street Baptist Church, Elizabethton, has called Joe Ledford as interim pastor.

Siam Baptist Church, Elizabethton, recently called John Peters as interim pastor.

Michael Icenhour has been called as pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Mountain City.

Dustin George has been called as pastor of Vonore Baptist Church, Vonore.

Williamsburg Baptist Church, Vonore, recently called Josh Sloan as pastor.

CHURCHES

Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church, Bluff City, will hold revival services Nov. 14-17 at 7 p.m. with guest evangelist Kenny Baldwin, senior pastor of Crossroads Baptist Church, Bailey’s Crossroads, Va.

DEATHS

Earl Dale Creasey, 79, of Russellville, died Sept. 30. He was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church, Morristown, and was an active member of Nolachucky Baptist Association Disaster Relief and served as director of the association’s Baptist Builders.

  • Randy Pressnell, left, Harvest Field 6 team leader for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, presents a plaque of appreciation from the Tennessee Baptist Convention to Richard Minton at Haynes Flat Baptist Church in Speedwell. Minton retired last October as director of missions in Cumberland Gap Baptist Association. Health issues preventing him from attending the Summit in November where he was to be recognized for his retirement.
  • Kirk Baptist Church, Collierville, observed its 90th anniversary on Sept. 18. Joining in the celebration were, from left, Leon Hazlewood of New Home Baptist Church, Martin, and father-in-law of Bobby Mullins, current pastor of Kirk Baptist; Bob Williams, who served as pastor at Kirk from 1989-98; and Mullins. Hazlewood was the oldest person in attendance at age 90, the same age of the church.
  • Goodsprings Baptist Church, Etowah, held its 150th year celebration on Sunday, Sept. 25.   • Frank Webb, right, pastor of First Baptist Church, Mount Pleasant, recently completed his third Ride Across Tennessee for the Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions. This year he rode from Dyersburg to Ducktown. He was joined by three other riders, from left, Will Speer, Burns Baptist Church, Burns. Aaron Terlecki, pastor, Burns Baptist; and Webb’s wife, Robin. Webb received $628 in pledges for the ride and First Baptist gave a total of $1,878 through the GOTM, including the pledges. As the group rode across the state, they prayed for lost people in Tennessee. Webb said he rides across the state because “it is a fun way to raise money for GOTM and to pray across the state. Hopefully, more people will be inspired to find ways to support the GOTM.”
