WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC DOES NOT CHANGE GOD’S CALL

August 20, 2020

By Bruce Chesser
President of the Tennessee Baptist Convention

Where do we go from here? It is a question that I am hearing from pastors and church leaders across the state of Tennessee. Much like the word to the Israelites after they crossed over the Jordan River into the Promised Land, “you haven’t traveled this way before” (Joshua 3:4).

Bruce Raley, executive pastor at  First Baptist Church, Hendersonville, and I would like to offer whatever help we can give to church leaders trying to determine where we go from here.

We have developed a one day seminar entitled “Navigating the Next 12 to 18 Months: Developing Strategies and Direction for the Church.” It is time we move from being reactive to proactive. This seminar will offer practical advice on what you do next to stay focused on the mission and the ministry of your church.

The reality is that churches are not going back to pre-pandemic conditions anytime soon. Leadership is needed now! Churches must be planning now for ministry for the next year or longer. We will help guide participants in developing specific plans and ministries for the coming months.

We are offering this seminar for pastors, staff members and lay leaders across the state of Tennessee. If you would like for us to come to your association, pastors conference, or church, just give us a call. You can schedule a one day seminar by calling Joy Sharp at 615-447-1324. There is no cost for this seminar.

If you live in the Middle Tennessee area, we will be hosting a seminar at  First Baptist Church, Hendersonville, on Thursday, Sept. 17,  from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Again, call Joy Sharp at 615-447-1324 to register.

None of us have ever been this way before. But the presence of a pandemic does not change the call that God has put into our lives and the need for us to be the body of Christ in our communities.

We would count it an honor to help you navigate these waters.
