Baptist and Reflector
BRENTWOOD — The Baptist and Reflector has launched Radio B&R, a new podcast on its website.
The podcast is the brainchild of Chris Turner, director of communications for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. “Our objective in launching Radio B&R is to offer Tennessee Baptists one more resource that might help them in their mission to reach the community and the world around them.
“We intend to explore issues that are of great importance to the church and to individuals, and to offer practical ministry ideas,” he noted.
Turner observed that the great thing about podcasts is “that they allow people to download an episode and listen to them whenever it is convenient. I listen to a number of podcasts when I’m driving and when I’m at the gym.
“We’d welcome Baptist and Reflector readers to offer ideas for things they’d like us to explore through Radio B&R. We want this to be something from which our readers and listeners can derive a great deal of information,” Turner added.
B&R Editor Lonnie Wilkey said the podcast is another avenue for the paper to tell the story of Tennessee Baptists.
Wilkey noted that most podcasts will coincide with a written story in the print edition. For instance, a podcast is now on the website that relates to the story on Roc Collins, new director of evangelism for the TBMB.
An added benefit of the podcast is that it will enable “our vision impaired” readers to have instant access to news and information via a podcast, Wilkey added.
“Our goal is to provide news and information in as many formats as possible to keep Tennessee Baptists informed. We ask our readers to let us know what they think of this new resource,” he added.
