Tumbling Creek Baptist Church, McKenzie, recently honored Gene Price on his 39th anniversary as pastor with a monetary gift.
First Baptist Church, Nashville, voted Nov. 19 to call Thomas West as senior pastor, effective Jan. 1, 2024. A native of Montgomery, Ala., West comes to Nashville from Queen’s Redeemer Church in England, where he served for the past five years. He also worked as an Equip teacher for Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and provided theological consultancy while in London. He holds his master’s degree and doctorate from Southeastern. West and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children. West will be just the sixth pastor at First Baptist in the past 100 years.
Brett Boesch, who has served as a part-time staff member of Nashville Baptist Association, has been called by the association as full-time connections strategist. He will help bring together leaders, resources and missional strategies in partnership with churches.
Tennessee Baptist pastors Rich Lloyd and Keith Johnson are writing Sunday School commentaries for the December-February quarter. Lloyd is in his 24th year as pastor of First Baptist Church, Newport. He also has served as pastor of three churches in Kentucky and is a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a widower with three grown children and two grandchildren. Johnson has served as senior pastor of East Maryville Baptist Church for the past 20 years. He also has served as pastor of Unity Baptist Church, Maryville, and a church in Louisiana. He has been married to his wife Nancy for 41 years. They were IMB missionaries for six years in Asia. They have two children and three grandchildren.

Brush Creek ,Baptist Church, Brush Creek, will present its “Life of Christ” Drive-Thru Dec. 9-10 from 6-8 p.m. each night. The church located at 26 School House Circle in Brush Creek.
DEATHS
Elizabeth Peters “Lib” McCluskey died Nov. 27. She was the wife of Jim McCluskey, pastor of Wallace Memorial Church in Knoxville. They were married for 70 years. She was active in Baptist life, having served as a trustee of East Tennessee Baptist Hospital and the School of Nursing at Carson-Newman University. She is survived by her husband, four children, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
