DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Over the last 80 years Daytona Beach has been the favorite destination for Bike Week as 500,000 people gather from across the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Tennessee Faith Riders, a motorcycle ministry passionate about sharing the gospel with the world, joined Faith Riders from other states in mid-March to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
This year Faith Riders shared their testimony with 3,398 bikers. The majority of the testimonies were shared with bikers 40 years old and older. Randy Clifton, Tennessee Faith Riders coordinator, reported that 339 bikers prayed to receive Christ into their life.
During the week, Faith Riders shared the gospel through their own testimonies with bikers as they passed through a sea of vendors’ tents. Tattoos, beards, leather, booze, drugs, and super loud bikes were no match for the transforming power of Jesus Christ, said Archer Thorpe, Tennessee Baptist Mission Board Faith Rider leader.
“Many came to Daytona to live for the devil, and they left with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior,” Thorpe said. He noted that “a hardened biker will listen to another biker share their testimony about Jesus.”
Every biker presented with the gospel was asked to register for an opportunity to win a new Harley Davidson Heritage Softail, and each person praying to receive Christ will be contacted for follow-up by a Faith Rider.
