The staff of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board had a special blessing on March 15.
The Heavenbound Singers of First Baptist Church, Sevierville, made a stop at the Church Support Center and ministered to us through a mini-concert.
Approximately 52 senior adult singers, led by Scott Andrews, the worship pastor at First Baptist, sang several upbeat songs, including popular hymns. The attitude of this group was infectious. Anyone who stopped by to listen to the tour who was stressed beforehand left with a better attitude. At least I did.
This was Friday before press day for the Baptist and Reflector, so I’m usually uptight. The Heavenbound Singers were just what I needed.
This group of senior adults is just another reminder that you’re never too old to be used by God. This group ministers to countless people through not only their music, but by their spirit. Jesus radiates from their presence as they sing.
So, senior adults (and I am one now), never think you’re too old. God can and will use you until He calls us home — if we let Him.
