What a blessing it is to be a Tennessee Baptist. God has so richly blessed our state and convention, and we are seeing people saved, baptized, and set on the road of discipleship. The generosity of our churches is seen in both our local communities and across our state as a whole. With all that we see God doing in our state, I can hardly wait to join you at the Summit.
This year the gathering of Tennessee Baptists, “The Summit,” will take place in Sevierville on Nov. 13-17. These will be some exciting days in the life of Tennessee Baptists. This year we are beginning on Sunday evening with a time of worship that we are calling the “Tennessee Reunion.” We will be led in worship by the Tennessee Mens Choral and hear a great message from our very own Steve Gaines, president of the Southern Baptist Convention.
On Monday we will have a powerful Pastors Conference with Todd Stinnett, conference president. Dr. Stinnett has enlisted a strong group of preachers to encourage, excite, and inspire us.
This year’s Summit will include a number of breakout sessions which will be both informative and beneficial in your ministry. These breakout sessions will be offered on Monday and Tuesday. You will not want to miss these enormous opportunities.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we will conduct the necessary business of our convention, as well as be inspired by learning more of what God is doing in our great state. These days will also be filled with great times of worship and proclamation, all for God’s glory.
Then on Thursday, Nov. 17, there is a new opportunity for fellowship with the inaugural “Summit Golf Tournament.” You won’t want to miss a moment!
It is possible for us to have one of the largest gatherings that Tennessee Baptists have had in many years. Our location, the Sevierville Convention Center, is more than adequate to accommodate our numbers, and you will find this to be a great setting for our meeting. What a blessing it would be to have more than 2,000 in attendance this year at The Summit! So, from Mountain City to Memphis and all points in between, make your plans now to attend The Summit! These will be great days in the life of Tennessee Baptists. Don’t miss it!
